Caj Chai

I first happened upon Caj Chai in March of '05 and I've since been hooked. I live in NY but visit Barcelona fairly frequently and every visit includes a stop or two at this amazing teahouse, It is a very inexpensive spa treatment for your body and soul. As soon as you enter you leave all stress behind, taking in the wonderful aroma and conforting ambiance. The owner and staff are very knowledeable of their craft and you know you will have an extraordinary tea experience.

Caj Chai is easily the best teahouse I have ever been to, much less in Barcelona. I'm recommending it to everybody, especially to tea lovers. It's amazing. You really appreciate how serious they are about quality. These guys prepare tea to perfection, and they import their teas themselves so its always fresh. They also sell tea and beautiful chinese tea pots and their prices are very good. I bought a purple one in the shape of a lotus flower. They also serve delicious pastries. And they play great music, jazz, world... it's perfect. What else can I say? I can't say enough!

It can be difficult to find though, but that's part of the charm... Anyway, the easiest way to get there is to make a left off Ferran Street just before Plaza Sant Jaume. See for yourselves.
